From January 17 to 18, 2024, the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Testing Machines organized a seminar on two national standards, 《Vickers Hardness Test of Metal material Part 2: Inspection and Calibration of hardness gauges》 and 《Vickers Hardness Test of Metal Materials Part 3: Calibration of Standard hardness blocks》, in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. The meeting was chaired by Yao Bingnan, secretary-general of the National Testing Machine Standardization Technical Committee, and was undertaken by Aviation Industry Corporation of China Beijing Great Wall Institute of Metrology and Testing Technology, Shanghai Quality Supervision and Inspection Technology Research Institute, Laizhou Laihua Testing Instrument Factory, Shandong Shancai Testing Instrument Co., LTD., Seite Instrument Manufacturing (Zhejiang) Co., LTD.,etc. The meeting was attended by 45 representatives from 28 units of manufacturers, operators, users and public interest parties in the field of hardness, such as Instrument Co., LTD., Shandong Force Sensor Co., LTD., Micke Sensor (Shenzhen) Co., LTD.
02 Main content of the meeting
Mr. Shen Qi from Shanghai Institute of Quality Supervision and Inspection Technology and Mr. Shi Wei from Beijing Great Wall Institute of Metrology and Testing Technology of Aviation Industry Corporation of China co-chaired the discussion of two draft national standards. The meeting adheres to the guidance of the implementation of standards; Solve the main technical problems, promote the further development of Vickers hardness technology, eliminate backward technology for the purpose; In line with the basic consistent with ISO, in line with China's national conditions, easy to use and other principles, successfully completed the research task, the main contents are as follows:
01. Chen Junxin, general manager of Fengze Donghai Instrument Hardness Block Factory in Quanzhou City, made a technical report to the meeting and shared the advanced technology related to Vickers hardness at home and abroad with the participating experts.
02. On the basis of full research and discussion of the key indicators, the problem of how to transform the key elements of the two international standards of Vickers and how to implement the main technical elements of the two national standards in China is solved.
03. Fixed errors in two Vickers ISO standards.
04. The relevant parties exchanged views on hot issues in the manufacturing, testing and measurement of Vickers hardness products.
03 The significance of this meeting
This meeting, China's major technical experts in the professional field of hardness gathered, major manufacturers, scientific research institutes and authoritative testing units of measurement sent representatives to attend the meeting, the meeting also specially invited including the convener of the International Organization for Standardization ISO164/SC3 and the national force hardness gravity metrology technical committee MTC7 several well-known experts in the industry. This meeting is the largest standardization meeting in the professional field of hardness of the national testing Committee in recent years, and it is also a grand technical meeting in the professional field of hardness in China. The study of the two national standards fully reflects the characteristics of the new era of standardization, which not only solves the problem of product quality, but also fully shows the efficiency and leading role of the industry governance standard.
The significance of the standard seminar is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
01 Promote the promulgation and implementation of standards while developing them. The participants' warm and wonderful discussions solved the problem of the transformation of key elements of the ISO standard and laid a solid foundation for the implementation of the standard.

03 Strengthening coordination among standardization organizations. Promote coordination among national standards, ISO standards and metrological verification regulations; Promote the production, testing and measurement of national hardness products more coordinated development; Chinese enterprises and experts can have the opportunity to deeply understand the technical route of ISO standard development, promote international integration, and help promote Chinese products to the world.
On this basis, the national testing committee put forward a proposal to build a "hardness working group".
