Today let’s see the difference between upright and inverted metallographic microscopes:The reason why the inverted metallographic microscope is called inverted is that the objective lens is under the stage, and the workpiece needs to be turned upside down on the stage for observation and analysis. It is only equipped with a reflected lighting system, which is more suitable for observing metal materials.

The upright metallographic microscope has the objective lens on the stage and the workpiece is placed on the stage, so it is called upright.It can be equipped with a transmitted lighting system and a reflected lighting system, that is, two light sources above and below, which can observe plastics, rubber, circuit boards, films, semiconductors, metals and other materials.

Therefore, in the early stage of metallographic analysis, the inverted sample preparation process only needs to make one surface, which is simpler than the upright one. Most heat treatment, casting, metal products and machinery factories prefer inverted metallographic microscopes, while scientific research units prefer upright metallographic microscopes.

4)When moving the microscope, do not hold the microscope stage, focusing knob, observation tube, and light source to avoid damage to the microscope

5)The surface of the light source will become very hot, and you should ensure that there is enough heat dissipation space around the light source.

6)To ensure safety, make sure that the main switch is at "O" before replacing the bulb or fuse
