Hardness testing method of steel pipe by Laizhou Laihua Testing Instrument Factory

The hardness of a steel pipe refers to the material's ability to resist deformation under external force. The hardness is one of the important indicators of material performance.

In the production and use of steel pipes, the determination of their hardness is very important. The hardness of steel pipes can be measured by various hardness testers such as Rockwell, Brinell, and Vickers produced by Laizhou Laihua Testing Instrument Factory, which can be customized as needed. The main measurement methods include the following:

3

1. Rockwell hardness testing method

The Rockwell hardness test is currently the most widely used method, among which HRC is second only to the Brinell hardness HB in the steel pipe standard. It measures the depth of the indentation and can be used to measure metal materials from extremely soft to extremely hard. It is simpler than the Brinell testing method.

2. Brinell hardness testing method

The Brinell hardness testing method is also widely used in the industrial field. It is widely used in seamless steel pipe standards. The hardness of the material is often expressed by the indentation diameter. It is intuitive and convenient, but it is not applicable to harder or thinner steel pipes.

3. Vickers hardness testing method

The Vickers hardness test is also widely used . It has the main advantages of the Brinell and Rockwell testing methods, but overcomes their basic disadvantages. It is suitable for hardness testing of various materials, but not suitable for samples with small diameters. It is not as simple as the Rockwell testing method and is rarely used in steel pipe standards.
