The standard requires whether the crimping shape of the connector terminal is qualified. The porosity of the terminal crimping wire refers to the ratio of the uncontacted area of the connecting part in the crimping terminal to the total area, which is an important parameter affecting the safety and reliability of the crimping terminal. Too high porosity will lead to poor contact, increase resistance and heat, thereby affecting the stability and safety of the electrical connection. Therefore, professional metallographic analysis equipment is required for surface porosity detection and analysis. Metallographic sample cutting, metallographic sample grinding and polishing machine, and metallographic microscope are required to sample and prepare the terminal, and then the graphic imaging is analyzed by metallographic microscope software for terminal cross-section inspection.
Sample preparation process: The sample to be inspected (the reinforcing ribs of the terminal should be avoided) is cut and sampled with a metallographic sample cutting machine-it is recommended to use a precision cutting machine for cutting, and the obtained workpiece is inlaid into a sample with two platforms using a metallographic inlay machine, and then the inlaid inspection surface needs to be ground and polished to a mirror surface with a metallographic grinder and polished, and then chemically corroded and placed under a metallographic microscope for inspection and analysis.
